Job Description Job Description Read Blue prints and estimate
storefront, curtain wall, glass railing, etc for Glass Company in
Denver CO Estimator Job Duties: Identify project-specific
requirements and specifications. Create elevations of specific
storefront and curtain walls in estimating software. Utilize
computerized estimating spreadsheets and proposal forms in
Microsoft Excel, Word, GDS Estimating. Produce detailed unit
takeoffs from architectural drawings. Prepare detailed Bid Packages
for submittal to the customer. Prepare work to be accomplished by
gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.
Evaluate offers to bid by working on costing changes, additions,
and site requirements. Maintain quality service by following
organization standards. Maintain continuity by documenting and
communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Experienced in creating and cultivating relationships. Review and
analyze proposals from potential customers daily. Strengthen the
company’s reputation in the marketplace through impressive
professionalism and relationship building with contractors and
customers. Develop an accurate and professional proposal. Ensure
the scope of work is 100% accurate, to avoid miscommunication,
errors, redos, and the need for a second estimate. Utilize software
to track actual costs against projections on awarded jobs.
Collaborate with Project Managers and production team as needed. *
* Estimator Skills and Qualifications: Computer Literacy
Familiarity with architectural plans is a must. Ability to make
take-offs from plans is a big plus, but will train. Experience
estimating any aspect of construction is a big plus Minimum two
years of architectural or construction experience Strong written,
verbal, and team-building skills. Excellent attention to detail and
listening skills. High level of integrity, professionalism, and
work ethic. Excellent follow-up skills. Must be persistent,
methodical, and timely. Ability to consistently meet all deadlines.
Strong foundation with numbers. Must have an easy-going and
coachable mindset. Ability to maintain multiple projects
simultaneously. Able to meet some physical requirements: walking,
bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, etc. Reasonable
