Our mission is to operate bike share systems that create connections in our communities and protect our planet. --Bike Transit employees provide safe, seamless, reliable, and memorable customer experiences, and create mutually-rewarding relationships with our riders, suppliers, and clients.--We are currently looking for a talented Field Technician to join our Boulder team!----Boulder BCycle Field Technicians work outdoors to make sure that BCycle e-bikes are available for riders. The job primarily entails redistributing bikes between stations and swapping batteries on bikes, in addition to tasks from the list below. Field Technicians use BCycle fleet vehicles (vans, box trucks, cargo bikes), so a safe driving record is required. A team-oriented, collaborative attitude and flexibility for an evolving role are necessary.--A few of the benefits we offer:Competitive compensation packageAffordable medical, dental and vision insurance options401k with up to 4% employer matchUp to 3 weeks PTO & up to 1 week STO per year4-day workweekPaid parental leaveEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Swap batteries on BCycle electric bikesBalance the BCycle system by redistributing bikes between stationsUse software tools (BCycle Admin, Teams, FlowPath, Qucit, etc.) to determine real-time BCycle system needsRecover bikes that are left unattended away from stationsInteract with riders and members of the public (questions on the street)Safely operate service vehicles and promptly communicate maintenance needsInspect bikes and stations to uphold safety, functional, and cosmetic standardsMaintain stations (light troubleshooting, replacing parts and batteries, cleaning)Assist in the installation and removal of stationsDrop off or pick up materials and supplies, as neededAttend events to present information on BCycle to the public (prepping e-bikes, setup, tabling, tear down)Educational and/or Work Experience Requirements:Requires High School Diploma or GEDValid driver license and clean driving record that passes insurance requirements for the companyExperience working with a small team to accomplish larger goalsOrientation to solving problems collaboratively and providing excellent bike share service to our ridersStrong computer aptitude, and command of various software/productivity toolsComfort driving, stopping and working in busy outdoor urban environmentsAbility to ride a large electric cargo bicycle in an urban environment desiredAbility to problem solve and remain under pressure.Physical Requirements and Special Demands:--The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Frequently bend, stoop, and twist throughout the day.Requires the ability to regularly lift objects up to 65+ lbs. and carry objects of this weight for distances up to 150 feet.Requires the ability to perform work while standing for prolonged periods of time.Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or finger occasionally throughout the workday.Safely transport BCycle electric bike batteries using various containers (daily).Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company and department policy.Required standing, repetitive, lifting, twisting, and bending (daily)Will require working and riding a bicycle outdoors in various temperatures including rain, cold, and heat conditions.Comfortable driving, stopping and working in busy outdoor urban environments.This is a full-time position expected to work 32 hours per week (4 days per week, 8 hours per day).
