Job Description:
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a Program Director for
Aquatics at the Cheyenne YMCA. We seek someone who daydreams about
scheduling, staffing and CPR. We are looking for an aquatics ace
who can help us continue our life-changing, life-saving aquatics
programs. We need someone who has grace and gumption: An organized
problem-solver and leader who cares deeply about water safety,
staff management, programming and customer service.
Our ideal candidate is basically awesome. More specifically, this
is what awesome looks like to us: The ideal candidate can help
develop and lead a team through inspiration, coaching and clearly
communicated expectations. He or she has a strong work ethic and
healthy work-life balance. Our future Aquatics Program Director
will be committed to all aspects of the position: working within
the framework of an annual budget; helping to hire, train and
supervise a strong Lifeguard and swim Instructor staff team; and
assist with the creation and implementation of meaningful
programming including a competitive swim team league all while
providing excellent customer service to our members and
participants.
The ideal candidate will understand that the Y is more than just a
gym or a pool. It's a community. And you are not simply helping
kids learn to blow bubbles or help adults perfect their stroke
technique. You are helping them find a support system, heal,
improve their wellbeing, nurture water confidence and develop
life-saving skills. You know some members are training for their
10th triathlon while others are stepping into the water for the
first time. Either way, you can't wait to welcome them to the Y and
show them how we can help.
