Job Description:

ROLE SUMMARYProvides basic patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of his/her training and experience. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct patient care including but not limited to assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, and walking patients.
  • Keeps record of care given.
  • Takes vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate) when appropriate.
  • Turns and repositions bedridden patients to prevent breakdown of their skin.
  • Changes bed linens as necessary.
  • Transports patients and equipment as needed within the facility.
  • Monitors patients and reports any variances to the RN for further assessment.
  • May monitor unit camera as needed and notify staff of patient activity.
  • Works collaboratively with the RN in charge to meet physicians, coworkers, management and other department needs.
  • May provide unit support as needed, which may include answering and relaying patient calls, accepting and relaying other communications, transcribing physician orders, performing clerical tasks, completing and maintaining reports and records, or ordering supplies.
  • Completes mandatory education and contact education requirements including 12 CEUs per year.
  • I understand that it is not within my scope of practice to handle any medications that I might inadvertently come in contact with, including medications delivered in the pneumatic tube system. If I do come in contact with medications I know to alert a licensed employee for them to handle.   • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrate an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree
    • Minimum of a current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant license upon start date
    • Cheyenne Regional RQI within 14 calendar days of start date PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
      • Prior acute care experience
      • 6 months experience as a CNA ---- ---- ---- ----

          These outreach services totaled more than $245 million from 2012 through 2016. In 2016 our overall contributions to our community came to more than $42 million. Of that $42 million, the total "community benefit," which includes the first eight categories above, was more than $17 million.
