Job DescriptionJob DescriptionROLE SUMMARYThe Pharmacy Systems
Clinical Pharmacist is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in pharmacy
related workflows in Pharmacy Systems operations, administration,
and support for all core Pharmacy informatics (i.e. Dose Edge,
Swisslog, Omnicell). This position has responsibility for working
closely with and being a liaison between the TrueConnect team, IT
department, clinical and general staff, management, and affiliate
health system staff to achieve the implementation, stabilization,
optimization, and maintenance of the Pharmacy systems. Reports
directly to the Director of Pharmacy. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with supervision and day-to-day operations of the
Pharmacy automation systems, ancillary systems, and all related
equipment; including workflow, network functionality, and onsite
system troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of
policies, procedures, goals and objectives related to pharmacy
informatics.
- Informs users of the status of enhancements, new software and
hardware releases, and of user-specific requests.
- Assists with core Pharmacy informatics security maintenance,
quality assurance, quality control, training, systems trouble
shooting, and coordination of system upgrades.
- Provides the software vendor with recommendations for system
enhancements, detailed information regarding technical or
functionality problems and coordinates implementation of
recommended fixes received.
- Assists team members and other users in the identification and
resolution of patient safety issues as related to medication use in
the Electronic Health Record or pharmacy systems.
- Develops, maintains, monitors, troubleshoots, and provides
technical support for Pharmacy informatics components.
Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals solving specific
operational problems, utilizing knowledge identifying opportunities
to improve quality, productivity, and efficiencies of Pharmacy
informatics infrastructure.
- Provides guidance and leads the implementation of new Pharmacy
IT software and applications, updates and upgrades to systems.
Participates in the design and documentation of existing and new
system requirements.
- Effectively and safely communicates all system alterations
according to established procedures and policies.
- Acts as the SME for pharmacy and medication related
cross-fuctional initiatives and participates in intake and
governance processes as the SME by effectively identifying complex
projects, contributing to resource allocation decisions, writing
scope statements, and documenting and communicating project
status.
- Partners with operational requestors and users providing
support, expertise, and guidance to optimize the Pharmacy automated
systems through established procedures and practices.
- Actively participates on the Pharmacy leadership/management
team ensuring adherence to established timetables, performs audits
and prepares reports for administration on all aspects of Pharmacy
operations as appropriate or directed.
- Participates in short- and long-term planning and budgetary
processes. Evaluates and recommends enhancement needs for assigned
information system(s) and related technology strategies through
performance of needs analysis, preparation of RFP's, performs
product cost analysis and assists with vendor selection. ROLE
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES: WILLOW PHARMACIST: Acts as a resource and
liaison between various departments utilizing information derived
from the Willow application to understand operational workflows and
build/modify/maintain HER configurations to meet Pharmacy needs in
accordance to TrueConnect/Epic standards and guidelines, and
through established procedures and best practices. Demonstrates
comprehensive knowledge of Epic Masterfile change control concepts
and procedures, constructs testing scripts to validate system
parameters and functionality performs as specified and participates
in integrated testing activities.The above statements are intended

- Superior understanding of and extensive clinical or operational
experience using the Willow application
- Strong understanding of the basic hospital pharmacy business,
pharmacy functions and workflows, and strong proficiency with
information systems technology.
- Superior goal accomplishment skills, and a strong ability to
analyze workflows and design / redesign processes
- Availability to work beyond standard business hours and to take
after hours call
- Willingness and ability to cross train to other applications if
needed
- Ability to travel for training or to work with remote
clients
- Detail-oriented individual with strong project management
skills, and superior customer service orientation
- Superior ability to lead and interact with multidisciplinary
teams, and model behaviors for others
- Ability to work independently and make independent
judgments.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills,

- In-depth understanding of pharmacy end-user workflows, and
ability to communicate and facilitate the phases of implementation
including discovery, validation, build, testing, training, and
migration
- Ability to read and interpret documentation and technical
manuals
- Ability to perform duties as a Clinical Pharmacist
- Proficient in reporting analytics through collaboration with
certified workbench and radar analysts and business intelligence
report writers.
- Proficient in data migration
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, intranet,
internet, and other systems
- Demonstrates experience working in systems support and/or
implementationJob RequirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) or Doctor in Pharmacy (Pharm
D)
- Registration and licensure current with the Wyoming Board of
Pharmacy or the ability to become licensed prior to start date
- Three years of health care or information systems experience or
a combination of both
- Experience working with clinical information systems
REQUIREMENTS TO BE COMPLETED ONCE HIRED
- Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within three months of hire.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
ONCE HIRED ONLY FOR WILLOW POSITION Able to achieve appropriate
Epic certification within three months PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years of project management experience PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS FOR WILLOW PHARMACIST
- Four to six years of experience in EHR development and
support
