Job Description:
Job Title: Travel RN - Med Surg/Neuro Profession: RN Specialty:
Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License
Certifications: NIH Certification, BLS Must-Have: Candidates

certification - BLS - Heavy med-surg background Description: The
unit has 38 beds and a staff of 55. Day shift includes 2 charge
nurses (without patients) with an RN to patient ratio of 4-5:1 and
2 Patient Care Technicians (PCT). Night shift consists of 1-2
charge nurses (depending on staffing) with an RN to patient ratio
of 4-5:1 and 2 PCTs. Patient ratios may vary with current
circumstances resulting in some shifts operating at a 5:1 ratio.
The unit is equipped with IV pumps, seizure monitoring, Bi-PAP,
CPAP (mostly used at night), and glucometers. Electronic Medical
Records (EMR) system used is Meditech. The most recruited skill set
for this position includes travel RNs with neuro experience.
Candidates with the following skills will be prioritized: - ACLS -
Neuro experience Typical procedures performed on the unit include:
- NIH/stroke assessments and neuro assessments - Fall risk
assessments - Tracheostomy care - Feeding tube management Ideal
candidates should be highly motivated team players. They should
possess great critical thinking skills, the ability to take
initiative, and adaptability. A positive, energetic, and flexible
approach to patient experience tactics is essential.
