Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/19/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Multi-trauma step-down unit assignment on 10th floor • Patient ratio of 1:4 with charge nurse free of patients (estimated ratios, not guaranteed) • 20-bed unit with highly acute and complex trauma patient population • BLS certification required • ACLS certification preferred • Must have ability to manage chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction • Work with various equipment including vents, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes • Experience with typical procedures such as placing chest tubes and bedside bronchoscopy • EMR system: Meditech • Standard trauma unit caring for stable vented/trached patients • Team-player personality required with ability to handle challenging cases • Work alongside charge nurse and 5 nurses with 2 techs on night shift Facility: This Level 1 trauma center operates a specialized 20-bed multi-trauma step-down unit that provides care for highly complex and acute trauma patients. The facility features a supportive team environment with motivated nursing staff, experienced charge nurses, and excellent physician collaboration. The unit maintains high standards of care with comprehensive technical support and advanced medical equipment to handle challenging trauma cases.
