- Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights
- Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is
seeking an experienced RN for an ICU Charge Float Pool position in
Colorado, requiring a compact or CO RN license and prior charge/ICU
experience. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in an acute care
setting as part of the ICU Charge Float Pool covering multiple ICU
types including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU - Assigned to night
shifts (12 hours), with 6-9 weekend shifts required in each 6-week
schedule - Patient assignments range from 1:1-2 depending on
acuity, and may flex to 1:3 as needed - Must float within a
designated 60-mile zone (Denver/Zone 3) and may be assigned to
different affiliated hospitals - Provides care for a general
combination of ICU patients and may respond to codes and rapid
responses throughout the hospital - RNs are responsible for reading
and interpreting their own telemetry strips - Epic EMR is used;
Epic experience required for first-time travelers - Orientation
includes 1-2 days with a preceptor - Charge nurses typically do not
take assignments unless necessary; more common for night shift
charge to have a small patient assignment - No nurse aides are
available; sitter support only - Travelers are responsible for
securing housing within a 60-mile radius to allow for floating
between affiliate facilities - All time off requests must be
submitted before the assignment begins - May be asked to
participate in the holiday rotation as needed - Dress code allows
for any color scrubs - First time travelers are eligible if they
meet the experience and Epic requirements - Candidates cannot have
been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity facility as a
direct employee within the past year - Rare on-call requirements
for low census situations /n /n Requirements/n - Active CO or
compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 2
years of recent ICU experience and prior charge nurse experience
are required - First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of
ICU experience and Epic experience - Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and
TNCC certifications required (AHA preferred) - Must be comfortable
titrating all critical drips, including pressors, sedation,
paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin - Must be able to
assist in managing respiratory needs and operate vents, CPAP,
BiPAP, and high flow equipment - Copy of driver's license required
for consideration - Two professional references required: one from
a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or
