Job Description:
Peer Specialist - Acute Salary Range: $21.50 to $30.10 per hour,
based on relevant years of experience Location: Larimer county,
Colorado at our Longview campus Status: Full time 40 hours per week
Hours: Sunday – Tuesday 9:00AM -9:00PM and every other Wednesday
1:00PM – 9:00PM Employees working at locations operating 24/7 earn
a differential. Shift differentials are also available for
evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. The salary range for this
position is SummitStone’s good faith belief and reasonable estimate
of the range of possible compensation for this position at the time
of the posting. SummitStone may ultimately offer more or less than

delivery of services to the community that it serves. Role
Overview: As a Peer Specialist you will use your life experience
from your personal journey of recovery of addiction and/or mental
health challenges to engage, advocate, and link clients with
SummitStone Health resources. Essential Duties: Utilizing your life
experience from your personal journey of recovery of addiction
and/or mental health challenges will perform direct client care for
clients needing peer support services. Provide direct client care
through individual and group sessions face to face, phone or
telehealth contact. Connects clients to formal or informal
treatment activities, services, and/or support. Services may be
community based and centered around client's recovery goals. Peer
Specialist cultivates mutual, supportive relationships with clients
as they navigate through systems. This looks like highlighting
strengths, sitting in discomfort, and walking side-by-side with
clients as they move toward goals of their choosing. Minimum
Qualifications: Lived experience with mental health and/or
substance use issues (either personally or as a family member) with
2 years of sustained recovery required. Licenses and
Certifications: Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to
obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record required.
CPR and First Aid certification required at certain locations. Must
complete training in SAHMSA Peer Core Competencies and COPA code of
ethics prior to meeting with clients. (Training is included during
the onboarding process.) Must obtain Colorado Peer Certification
(CPFS) through COPA (Colorado Practitioners Association) within 6
months of employment. All trainings, experience hours, and payment
for this certification are provided in-house. Preferred
Qualifications: High school diploma or completion of G.E.D.
preferred Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred SummitStone will take

the new Acute Care Behavioral Health facility which serves Larimer
County residents in need of urgent help with mental health and/or
