- Duties HelpDuties Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Nondestructive Tester, Position Description Number D******* and is part of the WY 153rd Maintenance Squadron, National Guard. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities This position is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Fabrication Flight. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. The position oversees and directs work of one or more Nondestructive Testers, WG-3705-10, who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory work of the shop. (1) Performs the full range of WG-3705-10 duties and responsibilities. (2) Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s). (3) If required (based on new Aircraft Gen 4 & 5 Aircraft), must be able to draw, design, test, write/re-write and perform new inspections in order to prepare AF form 22, AF Form 107's, and AFTO form 242's for submittal. (4) May provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position descriptions changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc. (5) May serve as an Augmented Quality Assurance team member and preform personnel evaluations on other NDI technicians. * This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. * Travel Required Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. Must submit vMPF Rip and SF-50 with application. Refer to Required Documents section for additional details and links. Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain a T3/SECRET security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). The Selected applicant must complete an 'I-9, Employment Verification', 'OF-306, Declaration of Federal Employment', and a 'Declaration of Relatives in the Wyoming Military Department' prior to the appointment date. Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives. Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS). Relocation expenses will not be paid by the Government unless noted in the Announcement. Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician. Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f). Qualifications MILITARY GRADE Min: E6/TSgt Max: E7/MSgt Enlisted applicant's military grade cannot exceed the maximum military grade authorized. Applicants' under or those over-grade will not be considered for this vacancy. Acceptance of this position does not in any way constitute a military promotion. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 18 months experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures. NOTE:Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Enlisted 2A7X2 ASVAB Requirements: Must possess a minimum score of '50' on the Generalportion of the ASVAB. Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than ******.
