Campground Worker is classified as Parks Helper
Part-time Non-Eligible employees are not part of the Oakland County
Merit System. These positions are limited to 1,000 hours per
calendar year and are not eligible for benefits. A closing notice
may be posted when a sufficient number of applications have been
received to meet current needs.
Work outdoors at a fun, and safe, place this summer.
Oakland County Parks and Recreation provides daily health
check-ins, personal protection equipment and training. Most work
assignments are outdoors.
Campground Workers are responsible for point of sale systems, cash
handling, customer service, reservations, merchandise sales. Other
duties may include work locations such as boat rental or waterslide
operations. Park maintenance responsibilities include park mowing,
trash removal, tree maintenance, line trimming, custodial services,
and trail maintenance
At the time of application, applicant must:
1. Be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate;
have completed the State requirements for a G.E.D.
be an emancipated minor; OR
have passed their 18th birthday.
2. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or
chauffeur's license. Out of country driver's license holders will
be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan
driver's license before the hire date.
3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical,
established for this classification.
