Meat Clerk Job Description
Provide exceptional customer service, handle meats safely, and maintain a clean and organized store environment as a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market.

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks
  
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices
  
• Examine meats in storage and rotate them to avoid aging
  
• Provide prompt and friendly customer service, assist with questions and special orders, and maintain a positive work environment
  
• Knowledge of weekly ad items, give customers direction of product location, and perform and follow "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" Programs
  
  
  Requirements
  
  • 
    
  • Be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic math skills
    
  • Be dependable, reliable, and able to perform other related duties as assigned
    
  • Have an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers
    
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
    
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
    
  • Perform general housekeeping in the department, clean and sanitize work areas
    
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations, and company recipes
    
  • Be able to stand for up to 4 hours continuously and walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours
    
  • Have good vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer
    
  • Be able to lift and carry products horizontally and vertically between 25 to 90 lbs.
    
  • Be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs.
