The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an
Electrician (GS-2805-10) at the 90th Support Group, 90th Civil
Engineering Squadron FE Warren AFB, Cheyenne Wyoming. In this
position, the incumbent will to install, repair, troubleshoot, and
maintain various electrical systems, controls, equipment, and
welding duties required. - This is a federal government position
with no active duty commitments. - SALARY RANGE : $24.70 - $28.81
(Hourly Wage) - KEY REQUIREMENTS: - - U.S. Citizenship Required.
Certification on as a welder: may be required. Shift work may
required. Position requires the ability to discern colors,
contrast, and depth. May be required to possess a valid operator's
license in order to drive a motor vehicle to and from work sites.
Emergency overtime may be required. May work with hazardous
materials such as asbestos or accumulated waste. Employee will be
required to wear protective clothing and gear on these occasions. -
- DUTIES: Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests
new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures,
panels, switches, breakers, and controls located m and near
installation buildings and structures. Troubleshoots problem areas
and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Uses and
maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as
screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers,
hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines. Utilizes safety
practices and procedures following established safety rules and
regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Installs, maintains and repairs high voltage underground cables and
pad mount transformers. Visually inspects welding to be performed.
Lays out work from rough sketches, oral instructions and/or own
layout. - - RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
The description of your work experience in your application must
clearly demonstrate that you gained and currently possess the
knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) shown below to
satisfactorily perform the duties of the position being filled : -
Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of technical practices m order to plan, lay out, install,
modify, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of complete systems.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used
m shop and trade practices. Knowledge of electrical equipment, test
lamps, multmeters, circuit analyzers, circuit breaker testers,
voltage recording meters, meggers, watt meters, ohmmeters, and
ammeters. Skill in using and maintaining hand tools such as,
screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, strippers, cable pullers,
drills, soldering irons, and manual or power conduit benders and
threaders. Skill in troubleshooting and tracing hard-to-locate
defects or problems. Ability to use electrical drawings,
blueprints, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams. Ability to
install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various electrical
systems, controls, and equipment without more than normal
supervision. Skill in operating special government electrical
repair trucks. Skill in using high voltage safety equipment.
Knowledge of welding techniques and ability to perform welding
