Inside Sales and Customer Support (VMI) Sells industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding supplies and related equipment to customers. Advises customer on equipment and materials needed and procedures to follow to complete tasks they wish to perform. Demonstrates use of equipment. Stocks and maintains showroom displays. Obtains or transfers merchandise to and from other locations. Prepare invoice, accepts payments and makes change. Wraps or bags merchandise for customers and assists in loading and unloading cylinders. This position will also be an onsite customer support specialist part time. They will be responsible for servicing and maintaining our vending machine customers to include inventory accuracy and replenishment of vending machines at customer sites, following safe handling practices, efficient order processing & invoicing, working with Branch Manager to maintain inventory stock at the branch to support vending customers. The VMI Technician Driver will be the first line Airgas representative with the customer for all vending machine inventory needs and daily operation of vending machines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Works with Branch Manager and Safety Sales Manager to communicate accuracy of inventory, inventory levels, or operation issues with vending machines at customer sites. Interfaces with Customer Service and/or Branch Manager to inform them of changes, additions, or deletions to delivery points or orders. General upkeep of on-site vending machines, including cleaning and maintaining inventory in the machine in an orderly fashion. Generates shipping documents for deliveries.Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed; including coding, costing and pricing. Communicate by phone and in person with external and internal customers. Establish and maintain good customer relations. Maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance. Coordinate with purchasing department any product shortage or outages. Ensure all administrative and accounting related procedures are strictly observed. Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and management. Maintain and restock warehouse and store. Operate forklift and other equipment as required. Perform general housekeeping duties as required. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Class C CDL with clean driving record. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Computer skills or some knowledge of computer order entry system. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs., frequent bending. Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours. Must be able to work overtime, when necessary. Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background. Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES DESIRED Setup and promotion of welding equipment and processes. Some experience in handling compressed gases. Customer service or sales experience. Accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. Perform work accurately and thoroughly. Take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
