Forensic Accountant About the Opportunity: Our client, a
respected family-owned company in Broomfield, CO, is seeking a
Forensic Accountant to lead a critical clean-up and recovery effort
in their accounting operations. This is a high-impact,
boots-on-the-ground role that will help uncover and document past
practices, correct accounting missteps, and develop sustainable
financial systems from the ground up. This position is ideal for a
Forensic Accountant who enjoys diving into messy books, identifying
gaps in processes, and creating order out of chaos-while working
with a kind, close-knit team that values humor, adaptability, and
integrity. Key Responsibilities: Conduct a full forensic review of
accounts receivable -including analyzing outstanding AR,
identifying duplications, unapplied cash, and incorrect coding, and
developing a collections strategy or training an internal team
member to execute it. Serve as a Forensic Accountant to investigate
historical transactions by following a literal paper trail and
conducting employee interviews to understand legacy processes and
work product. Review and rebuild AP practices from scratch, assess
recurring expenses and automatic payments, and implement internal
controls to support cash flow tracking and more accurate month-end
close. Document and build standard operating procedures (SOPs) for
both AR and AP functions, ensuring all workflows are aligned with
best practices and audit-ready. Pull and interpret historical data
from QuickBooks Desktop and Online; design financial tracking tools
(likely in Excel) to help surface key metrics and trends. Work with
the Executive Admin and General Manager to map out existing
workflows and build a new accounting framework with long-term
scalability. As a Forensic Accountant , provide high-level
oversight while remaining willing to get into the weeds-whether
it's reconstructing Excel tracking models or reviewing vendor
payments. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
or 5 years of applicable experience in forensic, financial, or
audit-focused accounting roles Proven experience as a Forensic
Accountant , Controller, or Senior Consultant handling financial
clean-up projects Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
Experience developing and documenting SOPs for accounting processes
Expertise in AR and collections strategy development High
proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data
modeling) Strong interpersonal skills for interviewing staff and
synthesizing operational information Preferred Traits: Trustworthy,
